A few days ago, the European Commission published an amendment to Annex 1 of the EU Regulation on the Import and Export of Hazardous Chemicals (EC No 689/2008) in its Official Journal. The revision mainly takes into account the recent changes in plant protection, biocides and REACH regulations.

         The amendments included the addition of the insecticide substances butflufenox, indole acetic acid, chlorflurazole, biguanide salt and 1,3-dichloropropane to chemicals subject to the "Prior Informed Consent" (PIC) procedure of the Rotterdam Convention In the list of products; and haloxyfop-P is deleted from the list. The above amendments will take effect on October 1.
