The ETV (Environmental Technology Verification) program is a set of procedures and methods created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to evaluate the ability of innovative technologies to solve problems that threaten human health and the environment. ETV is a quantitative evaluation of specific technical performance. All quality management members of EPA participate in the entire process of testing to ensure the quality of testing data.

The focus of the ETV plan for technical certification is on technologies that have been fully marketed or ready for marketization, and those technologies that are in the experimental stage are not evaluated.

MARGA is jointly developed by the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN), Metrohm and Applikon. MARGA provides a new, online air pollution monitoring and research method for atmospheric research. It uses a unique sampling device to directly absorb particulate pollutants and acid gases into the water phase, and then uses ion chromatography to monitor their components. The entire process is fully automated. In recent years, it has been put into use in many places in the United States and Europe.
